Lately, I’ve been contemplating ease and what it means to me… I’ve noticed the word coming up in conversation, my thoughts, mediations, and how I feel. I’ve concluded that it relates directly to flow, grace, and freedom for me.

Ease is defined as a lack of difficulty or effort, and it is something I am grateful to experience at this point in my life.

It’s not to say that my life is perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I can honestly say that I feel a sense of ease and fluidity most days, and I believe the “ease” comes from the feeling that “I am OKAY.”

However, I had to experience DIS EASE in order for me to have this awareness (of ease). Oh, the duality and polarity of it all. I felt guilt, shame, and unbalanced for way too many years. It was a default mode for me, rooted deeply in the belief that “I am NOT okay.”

Experiencing this shift from DIS EASE to EASE has been an ongoing process. As with many areas of growth and expansion, it requires massive patience, intention, consistent awareness, and a commitment to transcendence (PICA framework as taught by my mentor at Pause Breathwork).

I’ve learned that I can push the boundaries of comfort and experience the discomfort of the unfamiliar at the same time…..YES!!! We can hold BOTH of those sensations and come out unscathed!

In doing this I am more present with what “is” and less focused on what is lacking when I invite more ease in my life. From this vantage point, I have room for truth and opportunity, and I get to see and understand others’ perspectives while accepting setbacks as opportunities for learning something new.

You see, ease promotes flow, freedom, and growth, whereas DIS EASE creates stagnation, gripping, and cuts us off from the bigger picture of what may be available to us in our life.

Examining beliefs has been a game changer from the standpoint of ease, and this is just one example of how we begin to open up to GROW with the FLOW of LIFE.
