Summer has been amazing and SUPER CRAZY BUSY!

It seems like I completely bypassed the stretch between Memorial Day and now… it’s the second week of July. With that, I’ve missed reaching out here in my blog, and please know I am so happy to share what I’ve realized in the process.

I’m not going to lie; I’ve been dealing with feelings of self-disappointment and pressure around how I am “showing up.” And as one of my mentors says, “Never waste a good trigger,” so as any good student would do, I got curious.

What is that about?

Damn conditioning, again!

I’ve been aware of this for quite some time, and when I allow space to get curious about it, I start to chuckle. You see, I have been conditioned by society, my upbringing, peers, and mentors to equate output or what I am “doing” in marketing and business to my worth as a human being and a coach/entrepreneur.

And I don’t even wish to “justify” where I’ve been, although I will share it has been a lovely few weeks, upgrading our landscaping and summer space, connecting with nature, supporting family and clients with personal challenges, and traveling with friends and family, disconnected on and off.

As I type this, I am sitting in my happy place, my home sanctuary with a lovely garden and landscaping, a gentle breeze, and my pups chilling beside me.   And if I am measuring anything, it is the gratitude and joy I feel here and now.

Sounds great, right? But how do we get from self flatulation to a state of presence and contentment?

It’s a practice of connecting with your “true self.”

It’s that part of you that speaks when you are still aware and attuned to the emotional body and its sensations. Your true self can be experienced through breath, meditation, and contemplation. It’s who you are without all the expectations, and after stripping away the shoulds, the could’s, the “what if’s,” you are left with what IS!

It takes courage to peel away the layers of the false self. Sometimes it’s tricky to discern our beliefs from those of our parents and caretakers. It takes commitment, awareness, and patience to acknowledge the parts of ourselves that may have been hidden at a younger age to “keep us safe.”

What if conditioning and limiting beliefs are no longer necessary?

What if we were to lean into and honor them yet acknowledge our true selves in the process?

What if following your passion and what brings you joy leads to exactly the productivity and “come from” that contributes greatly to how you serve yourself and others in the world?

This process of discernment replaces guilt and same with peace and contentment, so I invite you to get still and see if you can connect with your “true self.”

And if you’d like support along the way, here are the NEW  upcoming CBQ series events where we get together and do just that. Our next one is Monday, July 17th – I hope to see you there

Let love flow!
