Do you remember when cruise control in vehicles first became a thing? When I used it for the first time, it was wild!
Think about barreling down the highway without touching the gas pedal. The car can accelerate or at least stay at a steady pace super cool and innovative, right?
Even though cruise control in the car is useful and keeps me at an even pace on the road, I’m not sure the set-it-and-forget-it approach works the same way in life.
Sitting back and relinquishing my power to autopilot sometimes happens. However, I like to shake things up a bit when I am in cruise control for too long.
I start by asking myself how I am feeling in my body. Is there something that wants to emerge and be brought out of the dark and into the light? Am I dimming my light to “fit in,” or am I allowing fear to hold me in place or, worse, backslide?
This practice brought my recommitment to a morning ritual, allowing trust and possibility to come through and awaken what may be dormant in my system. Something emerges for me and tells me to hit stop on cruise control and power up intuition and spontaneity.
I begin to notice where restriction or rigidity has been limiting or blocking my FLOW.
In this process, my energy awareness is much like the fuel in a vehicle. Practicing energetic hygiene and keeping myself replenished, paying attention to when the fuel/energy warning light goes on, and filling up with somatic practices like:
Breathwork, QiGong, time in nature grounding and earthing, movement or dancing to move stagnant energy…using my voice, singing, laughing, and playing are all sources of fuel for my soul.
Sharing this brings energetic tingles to my whole body, reminding me cruise control is super helpful in the vehicle to keep me from getting a speeding ticket. Still, I’ll choose manual control of my being to keep me humming on all cylinders in my life! It is a reminder to LIVE in FLOW.
Want to revitalize your system and refuel yourself? Try Breathwork or my NEW QiGong series. I invite you to check out the upcoming sessions and contact me with any questions at [email protected].
Let love flow!
